Goodbye 2011 and Welcome 2012!

Wow what a year 2011 was for me.  I met some wonderful new people this year and am grateful to each person as I learned something from each and every one of you. The brides that made me feel like one of their inner circle to the babies I have seen grow and prosper through the year.

I also made sure I experienced being in front of the camera and had a great session with Josh & Kylie from Josh Gow Photography. This session coincided when I got pregnant thus halting my ideas I had for the shots but I will get around to using and sharing them one day!

I also was lucky to be a maternity model for Wild Spirit and help in her teaching sessions

and last but not least I got to catch up with a wonderful local photographer Vicki James for some piccies of my blooming belly.

I enjoyed each session and hope to catch up again with you all at another time :)

This year I had a couple of major events  that stand out the most. Both in my business and personal life.

Personal life event was falling pregnant after many years of trying. I no  longer have to pinch myself to believe it as he kicks me regularly enough to keep me reminded he is around and soon will be a part of our life. I am sure I will have many photos to share with you once he arrives. I think he may grow up thinking I have a camera permanently attached to my face! :)

Business related there are 2 things that stand out the most. Photographing My First Birth Session and the fundraising calendar for Little Miss Eden.

Apart from giving birth myself and watching countless on TV etc I had never witnessed a real life birth before so had no idea what to expect when Abbey and Don invited me to be a part of their baby’s birth but I was excited to try something new. I am so glad I did it and to this day am still taken aback by how unique an experience it was and still cannot find the words to describe how I felt completely. Allara is now heading towards her first birthday in February and her mum and I joke how the roles are reversed this year and I am the one with the belly and the counting down to the big day.

Next is the fundraising calendar I did to raise money to help Eden and her family when she arrived in this world at 25 weeks. Seeing this tiny little person born at just 730grams or 1 pound 6 ounces and go from strength to strength was awe inspiring. Even more amazing was the support from the community to help in all sorts of ways, this little girl that many didn’t even know! I will update her progress again during the next few weeks and I think you won’t believe it is the same little girl. She has grown so much.

I offer many well wishes to each and every client I had the joy of working with this year. I thank you for choosing Captured by Carley and am happy to know I have helped capture a small moment of time for you to look back on for years to come.

Now here are  some random pics from sessions and my private life in 2011. Can’t wait to look back next year and see how 2012 compares!

Daddy’s Little Princess

All you have to do is look at these photo’s and you can see this is one very much loved little girl.

She was a dream for me and happily slept throwing a few smiles my way. Mostly when camera was not in hand but I was lucky enough to capture a couple in the end.

Thank you for the chance to capture a beautiful little girl Scott :)

Teddy Bear Tea Party {Maclean Childrens Photographer}

Over the last few months most of my friends have moved away to work in the mines so when I get visits from them it is very exciting. Master Xavier and Miss Ashley came home recently for a fortnight and we made a play date. It was all set up with beautiful golden sunshine then bang. The minute they stepped out of the car the sun went behind a cloud and we were left with a grey drab afternoon but lucky for me the kids were happy to have a tea party with their teddies anyway :)

Mr and Mrs Baker {Green Point Wedding}

I have known Candice since our school days and was looking forward to capturing her and Mitch’s magical day.

It was a perfect day weather and blessings wise.

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special moments.

Here are some of my favourites from the day.

I love B&W so most of my prep pics usually end up this way.

Adds a timeless classic feel to the day I think :)
